Goodbye Sweden!

Tomorrow I leave Sweden and start a new semester at CSU Northridge. I miss California and I look forward to coming back home. That's what it feels like... going home.
I said goodbye to Vincent, Christopher and Jonathan today. It gets harder each time. I wish I could take them with me and see them grow taller and hug them everyday. I miss seeing them growing up. They are three beautiful boys, and I am so sad sometimes that I live far away from them.... I will miss you sooo much. Hopefully as they grow older it'll be cool to have an aunt living in the US :) You can come over and visit as often as you like and have the time of your life. I'll be your cool aunt and nothing you do will be known to your parents ;)

I feel the same way as I did the last time I was in Sweden.... I think the Swedish people are way too shallow and reserved. Relax! It wont kill you to say hi to the person next to you, and people usually do not bite if you sit down next to them on the train or the bus. And one more thing, eye contact is not dangerous. I swear. It's ok..... dont you worry about it. Try to say something encouraging and nice to a stranger, the good karma will come back to you and your words will light up the other persons day.
The alcohol consumption in this country should be cut in half. But then again, without the alcohol no one would have the courage to have fun or fire off a smile in another persons direction. Sad. Once again, relax!

Sweden is beautiful. When the snow falls it's sooo cozy!! It's clean and beautiful and fresh! But the ONE thing I love most about this country is my family. I really see NO other really important reason to be here. I never miss Sweden, what I miss is my family. And I miss the Flinks :)
The country where I want to be is the United States of America :) That's where I feel "at home". I really do love it. I don't know how it happened, but I think I was destined to end up there. I remember my sister once said "she was born with American blood running through her veins". I dont think there is a better way to put it. I just wish I could bring my three little boys with me to the big country in the west...

So, this was it for this time! Now I'm going home. In a few months Marcus will be back. It'll be amazing.

Hej då Sverige!
Hello there USA!

My New Years Resolution

I've never cared much about new years resolutions, but I think I need to make one this year in order to stop the vicious cycle I'm trapped in. I suppose that resolutions are meant to be kept secret, so lets just say mine has to do with stress and worrying. Excessive worrying to be exact. No more of that especially when the issue at hand isn't even a serious one. Frida, shape up!

A good place to start is realizing that my I-20 will arrive in time so that I'll be let into the US on Friday next week. What are the chances of mail disappearing? It's not like we're living in a time when "putting something in the mail" means a knight has to get up on a horse and deliver the letter personally to me months later after fighting hungry beasts and strong armies with a sword, making his way over on his four legged friend. No my friend, it should be a lot easier. To be exact, it should take 7-8 days. Then W H Y am I on day 11... almost 12?
Probably a minor delay in the post office. Nothing to worry about. (That was the new Frida speaking)

Don't worry. Be happy!
*passion*

Music

I saw Usher at Nokia Club the other day. If this tour comes to Sweden all I can say is BUY TICKETS. Only 2000 tickets per show, so be fast, it's worth the money. It was better than the big arena show in 2004. Live music is my "high" and I'm so happy to have the opportunity to live in Los Angeles where I'm surrounded by it. When the concert was over this song was played and it's one of those songs that really gets to you... or me anyway.

Usher - Hush

Ba'Bay I miss you!

So cloooose!

Nothing inspires the way music does.
No music has ever and will ever inspire me the way Michael Jacksons music does. There is no need to explain the degree of importance here, if you know me, you know what I'm talking about. This man is a LEGEND. I saw him live in concert August 16th 1997. I have since never even thought about the possibility of seeing him perform live again..... and certainly not see the man off stage, in person. It just seemed like scandals, age and a less public image over the past ten years made a comeback on stage less possible.
Anyway, I moved to the states and little did I know that Michael Jackson would be walking the streets this week shopping like any other normal person. So, when Gino got a call from his sister two days ago I couldn't believe what she said. She was on Rodeo Drive with Katerina and her friends and guess who they're looking at. Michael Jackson. Can someone PLEASE explain what the hell I was doing at home? We all ran to the car, but didnt make it in to Beverly Hills in time. Come on destiny, work with me!!

Rumors are flying around. It seems like the Jackson 5 might be doing a tour together in 2009 and GUESS if I will go to multiple concert dates! Oh yes, you better believe it!!!! Hopefully, I'll get to see him perform live again, now I'm just waiting for a credible source to confirm. That would be SO AWESOME!!!
Keep your fingers crossed!

Update!

  • The sun is shining which is very nice considering it's the end of October
  • I've been accepted to California State University Northridge as a marketing major!
  • I'm waiting for the election and hoping that the outcome is to my satisfaction :)
  • I'm thinking about the way I want things to be :)
  • I saw Tina Turner in concert the other day. Damn, if I can strut my stuff like her when I'm 68, I'll be happy! (And she proves that age makes no difference on how high your heels or short your skirts can be) ;)

Cute!!!!

Halloween is just around the corner. I don't care that much about it now, but you better believe I will have a lot of fun when I have kids :)

How cute isn't this little fella?
Why the terrified look? Don't you like your skunk-outfit?
ADORABLE! Monkey see, Monkey do!
It can't get more Halloween that this :)
This will make your car smell like a baby :)
I have a strong feeling this would be Marcus favorite pick. Wrong colors though. We can make it yellow/red! No prob! ;)
This, my friends, is HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!!! Without a doubt, my favorite! HOT DOG-BABY!

Passion

Today is October 1st and we had 36 degrees Celsius outside. My math professor had to let us out of class early because it was too hot in the room. As I was walking home from Starbucks after our Speech 6 group meeting tonight, I wanted it to be a loooong way home so I could take it all in. Everything here is so beautiful, sometimes I tend to forget, as it is my "everyday" now.

In seven months, when Marcus comes home, things will be perfect. The channel is waiting for us! One patio chair, stars, boats and us. I promise I wont spill any more drinks on you :)
Passion.

Katerina and I finally got our huge wall decorated. Pretty damn proud, if I can say it myself. Thanks mom, IKEA rocks!

Our beds are not made in this picture, which they usually are. Promise. Sort of :)

It's bedtime. I'm going to stay up for a while longer though, in hopes that GP will go online. I need to know if you lost those 5 lbs or not!!! ;)

Vincent, Jonathan and Christopher, I miss you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I might be far away but I think about you everyday! I love you!

Mina snyggingar!

A big reason for update :)

I know I know... I REALLY suck at this blog thing. (I'm sorry Anna, I understand you are left with absolutely NOTHING to do at work when I'm not updating my extremely entertaining blog) ;)

Things are the same here in my beautiful Cali and I miss my Marcus every day.
My dad is visiting in about a month so that'll be fun!

I went to a concert three days ago. And not just any concert. No no. We're talking Jackson family here people. We're talking "Rhythm Nation", "Control", "Again" and "That's the Way Love Goes". We're talking JANET JACKSON!

Did she rock the Staples Center? OH YES! Was I in a state of complete smiles and excitement? OH YES. Janet Jacksons concert once again reminded me that it was better back in the day. Most of the songs she performed were from the 80's and 90's and people STILL love them. Young or old, the Staples Center audience were all standing up, dancing like C R A Z Y. I thought people were wild at the Justin Timberlake concert, but I'd seen nothing yet. Janet got the Staples Center crowd to stand up and shake their booty from the moment she took the stage until she waived goodbye. And believe me, people do go nuts. Going to a concert of this kind in the US, is a very "un-Swedish" experience, and Katerina and I LOVE IT!
It's once again proven. The Jacksons do it better than anyone else.
(listen to the way people sing along. This went on from beginning to end. LOVE IT!)

"Passion" is my new motivation word.

I'm back!!!!

I'm back in the States!!! Woke up this morning with a smile on my face! The flight over here went ok, even though the landing was a near death experience in Philadelphia. The food was nasty, I need to remember to bring chips on to the plane the next time I travel!

Thank you Sweden for this time!

I dont have anything at home to eat and I'm starving so I have to go to Ralphs. And then my friends, I'm going to Sports Chalet to buy shoes for use in the G Y M :)
Yes, I'm speaking the truth.

Chris 25 years!!!

Chris, I know it's not your birthday in Sweden right now because of the time difference, but it's still the 24th here! I just wanted to say happy birthday and let you know that you're closer to 30 than 20 ;) I took this picture with you in mind. I think I pulled off a solid Chris look. Chris à la Hollywood ;)
Happy B-day girl! Miss ya!

Summer session 2008 - officially OVER!

Accounting 1. Check!
Business 32. Check!
Lovely feeling!
I did good on my finals too. Set a new record with my business final... 1o minutes =)

Went to 3rd Street real quick today between finals. I cant believe the line to Apple Store is still LOOOOOONG! All for the new iPhone. It's crazy! Lucky me, I didnt have to stand there waiting because I needed earphones. No trip to Sweden is complete without my iPod! Bought two books. "The Last Lecture" which without a doubt will make me cry and Chelsea Latelys' new book to make me smile afterwards :)

Packing tomorrow.
Saturday morning I leave! Sunday 18.30 I touch down in Stockholm!

Seriously. I need falukorv.
Wasa Crispbread found its way to the shelfs at Ralphs, why not FALUKORV!!??
I'm hungry....

onsdag 16 juli 2008

Yes, I DID IT :)

After tomorrow I have one more week left of school! Do I need to say I can't
wait to have some time off?? It'll be so much fun to see you all in Sweden,
and I cant wait to eat falukorv! Crazy how something so boring becomes so AWESOME
when you can't have it. Falukorv rules!!!!
I'm soooo looking forward to the "surprise" cruise with Vincent, Jonathan and Christopher. It's so adorable how Christopher can't keep surprises, I actually think we might have that in common :)

Oh, I did my business presentation today.... I ACED IT!!!
It wasn't so scary after all.
Most likely, it was scary as hell. I just didn't realize it because I was still up on that cloud after reading your emails Ba'Bay!!!

Change of language!

I understand that some of you (read: Anna) wants me to blog more :)
The thing is that everything is boring now. All I do is go to school. It doesnt get more exciting than that I'm afraid.
One little change from now on is that I'll write in English so everybody can read it :)

"Flu flu"
;)

Just for you ;)

Bigger IS better.

Killarna med brudar på Hollywood Blvd. Arnolds stjärna... Terminator ni vet, eller Guvernören, allt funkar.

Det blir aldrig fel med Guess, så är det bara.

Nu ropar stranden. See ya!
